Skin Hydrating Masque
A deeply hydrating solution to dry, stressed skin comes in a new and improved formula for Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque. We have reformulated this refreshing masque to boost the power of hydration on the skin long after the masque is removed.  As the temperature drops, so does the level of humidity in the air - and this means moisture is literally pulled out of our skin into the atmosphere! But seasonal changes are just one way skin can become dehydrated. Pollution, over-exfoliating, harsh soaps and even psychological stress can all lead to skin dehydration. It is important to maintain skin hydrated in order to prevent the microcracks tht allow foreign invaders to penetrate, causing inflammation. Enter Skin Hydrating Masque. This reformulated masque harnesses unique cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate skin with a capacity to hold 5 times the amount of water better than the leading moisture magnet in skin care products. Codium tomentosum, green algae, helps regulate moisture content and long-term water retention to provide in-depth moisturization. The addition of an amino acid-sugar complex stimulates skin's own Natural Moisturing Factor to maintain suppleness and elasticity. Combined with Salicornia Herbacea Extract, or Glasswort, cellular cohesion is enhanced, thus minimizing trans-epidermal water loss. These powerful ingredients ensure that skin retains its moisture more efficiently and for longer periods of time, resulting in velvety smooth, supple and soft skin. Combined with antioxidants from Tomato seed, Canadian Willowherb and Carrot Root, this refreshing masque will deeply hydrate, soothe, and protect from future damage.

Skin Refining Masque
Oily skin. If you have it, chances are you've inherited it. Overactive sebaceous glands give your skin the sheen to downright slick texture that can lead to problems like breakouts if not controlled. Luckily, this skin type can be managed with the right ingredients and care. Introducing newly reformulated Skin Refining Masque. This purifying masque will regulate over-productive oil glands while reducing enlarged pore size to refine skin and prevent future breakouts.Hormones, genes and stress can all trigger oil production. Natural earth clays Bentonite and Kaolin help absorb excess oil and remove surface impurities. We've added a new blend of phytochemicals from Cedar, Magnolia, Tea Tree and Green Tea to this existing clay base to enhance the sebum-regulating, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of Skin Refining Masque. Lentil Seed Extract tightens pores, smoothes skin grain, controls shine, making skin more uniform and radiant. Combined with Eijitsu Rose, pore size is reduced by strengthening the pore wall as well as regulating the abnormal keratinization that leads to enlarged pores. Drying out the skin may seem like a likely solution to oily skin. However, this can actually lead to more oil production and sensitivity. The newly reformulated Skin Refining Masque is non-drying and utilizes sophisticated ingredient technology to control excess oil, purify skin and prevent future oily skin breakouts.
For those with combination skin, both masques may just be the perfect solution to their skin issues. Often in these types, the T-zone is oily while the cheeks are dehydrated. Newly reformulated Skin Hydrating Masque and Skin Refining Masque are two great solutions for tackling thirsty or oily skin in under 15 minutes!

Searching for a hair salon in Coquitlam? Not sure what to look for? We're here to help.
What makes a good salon experience? Is it the people? The products? The environment? The Service? The correct answer is a combination of all four. We know you have your choice of hair salons in Coquitlam, but we're sure you'll find that the award winning il Destino is the best and here's why:
Acne can happen at any age but is a lot more common among teenagers; almost 8 in 10 teens have acne (kidshealth.org). Â Acne is considered a normal part of puberty, but knowing that doesn't exactly make it any easier to deal with. Skin can be a huge challenge for teenagers because hormones are all over the place as their bodies are developing into adulthood. For one thing, testosterone comes into play and can kick the sebaceous glands into overdrive causing oily skin and of course breakouts. The natural reaction is to scrub, scrub, scrub and strip the skin which causes a lot more problems. Also, girls at this age begin wearing make up, and many products contain harmful ingredients that could clog pores and if it is not removed properly, your skin could become one big mess.
As hairstylists there are many facts about hair health that we take for granted. It is only through the number of questions I have been asked by guests in my chair that I have come to realize...how many ‘hair myths’ are actually out there. Allow me to clear up some of the most common mis-beliefs about hair care.
Myth: Unwashed Hair is Good Before a Dye Job
False! When your hair is dirty it is harder for the colourist to determine the exact colour of your hair, whether it has faded, or if subtle changes might have occurred during the course of the touch-up. Clean hair enables your colourist to have a clearer picture of the proper adjustments that need to occur to keep your colour perfect. Hair colour also takes better on clean hair. If you do have a sensitive scalp and are worried about a reaction to the colouring process, wash your hair gently and do not scrub your scalp.
